In a recent survey, at least 63 percent of parents have sai that schools should make online classes availabe if a district with Covid-19 positivity rate crosses 5 percent, so that the learning process os not disturbed.

“27 percent of surveyed parents said once the Covid test positivity rate (TPR) in a district crosses 2 percent, online classes should be started. While 63 percent parents said if district TPR crosses 5 percent, schools should make online classes also available so that learning is not disrupted for impacted students,” according to a new survey.

The survey was conducted by online platform, Local Circles. It received 23,500 reponses from the citizens acriss 314 districts of India. As per information, 62 percent of the respondants were men, while 38 percent were women.

Further. 44 percent of the parents were from tier 1 districts, 34 percent were from tier 2 districts, and 22 percent were from tier 3 and 4 districts.

Further, the survey added that there are many schools across the nation where online education facilty does not exist. Therefore, in such cases schools should move towards a shorter duration of classes might be the best option till a point when positivity rate rises subsantially.

Schools were shut down for over an year in view of the Covid-19 outbreak and have now resumed completely offline classes from the new academic session.
