30 hurt in a private-TSRTC bus collision on Srisailam highway
At least 30 people were injured when a private travel bus collided with a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus near Thummaluru Gate on the Srisailam highway in Maheshwaram, Ranga Reddy district, around 8 p.m. on Saturday.
“The private bus, operated by Balaji Travels and reportedly travelling from Somasila to Hyderabad, was heading in the wrong direction when it crashed into the RTC bus, which was en route to Hyderabad from Kalwakurthy,” said an officer from the Maheshwaram police. The mishap led to a traffic jam that lasted until midnight, the officer added.
Of the 30 passengers injured, three sustained serious injuries, while the rest suffered minor wounds.

After being repeatedly disrupted for three consecutive days over issues ranging from the Governor’s address and alleged disrespect to the national anthem to demands for the resignation of the Excise Minister, among others, normalcy finally returned to the Legislative Council on Friday, with proceedings commencing.
