In Jharkhand, 21,000 students of Classes 1 to 12 are set to receive free mobile tabs.
The Jharkhand state government has decided to give away free mobile tabs to 21,000 students of Classes 1 to 12. The state government will also provide free SIM, internet recharge and pre-loaded content facility in the mobile tab.
In the financial year 2021-22 in the state, students of Classes 1 to 12 had been provided mobile tabs in 136 residential schools under the department to continue their studies at home due to the closure of residential schools because of Covid-19.
Regarding the scheme related to this, Minister Champai Soren said that the education of about 21000 students belonging to Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes of the state will not only continue but quality education material will also be made available to them.
He said that the department has also ensured the arrangement of internet recharge and SIM cards along with the mobile tabs so that studies are not interrupted due to lack of recharge.
Also, important and necessary learning material will be pre-loaded in the tab.
1. Keeping in view the situations arising due to Covid-19, students of Classes 1 to 12 in residential schools will be provided mobile tab (with pre-loaded e-content) and 12 SIM cards (minimum 2GB per day) will be provided with data recharge for the month.
2. Out of the 143 residential schools currently operating under the department, except 7 Eklavya Model Residential Schools, the students of Classes 1 to 12 of the remaining 136 residential schools will be covered by this scheme.
