2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga teased, pre-bookings open

The new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga launch will take place in April and ahead of its arrival, the company has released a teaser, shared powertrain details and opened pre-bookings.

Bookings for the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga have commenced. The vehicle has been a strong seller for Maruti Suzuki and has enjoyed years of dominance in the MPV segment. The brand has only released a teaser image, but on analysis, it appears that a number of external design details have been tweaked. The biggest change for the new car is the use of a new 1.5-litre K-Series Dual Jet Dual VVT engine along with a 6-speed automatic transmission replacing the older 4-speed unit. The K15 engine claims a fuel efficiency of 19.01kmpl in manual and 17.99kmpl in automatic.

Although there is little change in the overall silhouette of the car, the notable change appears to be on the grille which is a black-scale design replacing the chrome one. The headlamp assembly appears largely the same, while the lower bumper may also receive changes. More details on the exterior will be available when Maruti Suzuki releases further images.

The cabin is expected to be similar to the outgoing car, with the 7-inch SmartPlay Pro Touchscreen infotainment display in the centre along with Suzuki Connect smartphone connectivity software. Other features include automatic climate control, remote keyless entry, tilt steering, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs and more.

For the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, a single 1.5-litre Petrol engine is offered. This motor comes with 115bhp of power, around 10bhp more than the older engine. Additionally, for enhanced efficiency, the engine has Dual Jet Dual VVT tech with Smart Hybrid tech. As before, a 5-speed manual will be available with a new 6-speed Automatic with paddle shifters.

Maruti Suzuki has now extended the Ertiga S-CNG variant to the ZXI (second from top trim) further expanding the number of trims that CNG buyers can choose from. Currently, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is priced starting at Rs 8.15 lakh to Rs 10.85 lakh (ex-showroom). Interested customers may book their car for an amount of Rs 11,000 on the Maruti Suzuki website or by visiting Maruti Suzuki Arena dealerships.
