2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno launch on February 23

The new Maruti Suzuki Baleno comes with a redesigned exterior, new alloy wheels, revamped interiors with added features like a head-up display, 360-degree camera view and a bigger 9-inch touchscreen display.

Maruti Suzuki has announced that the new Baleno will be launched on February 23, 2022. The new car comes with a longer list of features along with considerable updates to the exterior and the interior. 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno bookings are already open.

Externally, based on the teaser images Maruti Suzuki has released and leaked images of the car, it carries a new grille and new wraparound headlamps with shark-fin LED Daytime running lights. The rear too gets new edgier taillamps with LED inserts. The car also features revised front and rear bumpers and a new set of alloy wheels.

Changes to the dashboard layout are quite extensive complete with a bigger, free-standing 9-inch touchscreen, new instrument console and a new steering wheel. It will get Maruti Suzuki's new Smartplay Pro+ infotainment setup with connected car tech, 360-degree camera view, a head-up display for speed, rev counter and other readings and more. The 2022 Maruti Suzuki will come with a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with around 90bhp benefitting from an integrated starter generator (ISG). The CVT, however, will be dropped and replaced with a 5-speed AMT unit, in addition to the standard manual transmission.

Competing with the Honda Jazz, Tata Altroz and Hyundai i20 in the premium hatchback category, the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno will look to dominate as it has since it was launched. The car should be priced marginally more than the Rs 6.15 to Rs 9.70 lakh (ex-showroom) price tag the outgoing car has.
