A joyous wedding procession in Tonk district turned into a tragedy when a DJ vehicle reversed into a crowd, killing two boys and injuring three others.
What began as a joyous wedding procession in Tonk district of Rajasthan turned into a scene of horror when a DJ vehicle suddenly reversed into a crowd, crushing two boys to death and injuring three others, including two girls.
The incident took place in the Gol Dungri area when women, men and children were on their way to collect ceremonial kalash ahead of the wedding. The DJ vehicle was moving in front of the procession, playing loud music, while people danced behind it.
According to initial information, the vehicle allegedly went into reverse gear unexpectedly and began moving backwards at speed. Before those dancing behind it could react, two eight-year-old boys, Kuldeep Keer and Dilkhush Keer, were run over and dragged for a considerable distance. Both died on the spot.
Anita, a woman, and two eight-year-old girls, Usha and Neha, were also injured in the incident.
The sudden deaths triggered chaos at the spot. Enraged mourners and locals caught hold of the DJ vehicle driver and thrashed him before handing him over to the police that reached the scene.
Family members alleged that the vehicle was being driven by a minor. Police said the claim is being examined.

India on Monday said it has not held bilateral talks with the United States on deploying naval vessels to secure merchant shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The clarification came after US President Donald Trump urged countries to send warships to keep the strategic waterway open amid tensions with Iran.
