
2 Pakistani inmates escape juvenile home in Jammu after attacking cops

The incident occurred around 5:15 pm on Monday, when the inmates attacked the on-duty guards and fled the facility. The escapees have been identified. Two of them are from Pakistan and one from R.S. Pura area of Jammu and Kashmir.
Three inmates escaped from the Juvenile Observation Home in R.S. Pura, Jammu, after allegedly assaulting and injuring two police personnel on guard duty, according to a statement issued by Jammu Police.
The incident occurred around 5:15 pm on Monday, when the inmates attacked the on-duty guards and fled the facility. The escapees have been identified. Two of them are from Pakistan and one from R.S. Pura area of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police said the trio allegedly attacked two personnel, Vinay Kumar and Parveen Kumar before escaping. Both sustained injuries during the assault.
Officials added that cognisance of the incident has been taken and an investigation is underway. Special teams have been constituted and raids are being conducted at multiple locations to trace and apprehend the fugitives.
A purported video circulating on social media allegedly shows one of them, firing rounds inside the observation home. Authorities are also probing how a locally-made pistol reached the inmate.
