Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announces Rs.7,000 bonus for 80,000 Group B & C govt. employees ahead of Diwali. Leader of Opposition demands 4% DA payment before Diwali. Bonus incurs ₹56 crores expenditure.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday announced a ₹7,000 bonus for Group B non-gazetted and Group C employees of the Delhi government for Deepavali and said it will benefit about 80,000 employees.
“This will double the joy in our employees’ homes during the festive season. As a government, we have always made efforts to improve the lives of our employees and this effort will continue in the future as well,” Mr. Kejriwal said.
The government will incur an expenditure of ₹58 crore for granting the bonus.
Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri demanded that the Delhi government also pay an increased 4% Dearness Allowance (DA) to its employees. He said the Chief Minister should announce and give an increased DA before the festival.
The Madras High Court on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, rejected a plea by former special Director General of Police (DGP) Rajesh Das to restore the electricity service connection to a bungalow in Thaiyur near Kelambakkam in Chengalpattu district, and to restrain Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) officials from disturbing the power supply in future.
The Madras High Court on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, permitted Anna University to deposit, in three monthly instalments, an amount of ₹73.23 lakh before the Central Government Industrial Tribunal (CGIT) as a condition to hear a statutory appeal preferred by the varsity against the Coimbatore Regional Provident Fund (RPF) Commissioner’s order to pay dues to the tune of ₹2.44 crore to contract employees.
