Harshal Patel had exited the Indian Premier League bubble on 11 April and was expected to quit the season. However, the pacer chose to come back and continue with RCB despite the heartbreaking loss of his sister.

Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Harshal Patel penned an emotional letter to his late sister Archita Patel on Sunday. He posted the heartfelt message on Instagram late on Sunday, 17 April stating that she was one of the kindest and joyful people in his life.

He revealed that his sister had told him to not worry about her and asked him to focus on his game instead."Those words was the only reason I could come back and take the field last night. That’s all I could do now to remember and honour you. I will continue to do everything that made you proud of me," Harshal said via his instagram post.

Harshal missed just one game against Chennai Super Kings, which RCB lost by 23 runs, owing to the hitting of Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dube. He came back in the next game against Delhi Capitals after completing his three-day quarantine - a match that RCB won on the back of Josh Hazlewood's stunning performance.

Patel further in his letter wrote that he was going to miss her in every moment of her life and would do whatever he can to make her proud."...will continue to do everything that made you proud of me. I will miss you every moment of my life, in good times and bad. I love you so much. Rest in peace," he concluded his message.

RCB take on Lucknow Super Giants in their next game on 19 April, Tuesday and would hope to stop the in form KL Rahul team from dominating the league table.
