Taking a dig at Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, BJP leader Raghubar Das accused the former of looting the state. Hemant Soren is facing the threat of disqualification for holding an "office of profit" by granting a mining lease in his favour.
Former Jharkhand chief minister and BJP leader Raghubar Das fired fresh salvo against Hemant Soren and accused the latter of “looting” the state. Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren is facing charges that he issued a mining lease in the state in his favour.
Taking a dig at the Jharkhand chief minister, Raghubar Das said, “I had requested CM Soren to clear the things related to allocation of land to his wife and sister-in-law. But he has not done it so far."
He added, "No one is allowed to loot the state. Mr Soren you are trustee of the state, but became the owner of the state and looted it. So I give a slogan today ‘gareeb adivasiyon ko dikhaya sapna, sara sarkari maal apna’ (showed dreams to poor tribals, and looted all government money).”
Jharkhan CM Hemant Soren has been asked to furnish reply to Election Commission as to why he should not be disqualified for holding an "office of profit" by granting a mining lease in his favour. Hemant Soren had sought a four-week extension from the Election Commission to reply to its notice over charges, but the poll panel gave him 10 days. The Jharkhand CM needs to submit his reply by May 20.
Meanwhile, Raghubar Das has also accused Hemant Soren’s wife of procuring land in violation of the Chota Nagpur Tenancy Act.
“Kalpana Soren purchased two lands. In the deeds to the land, she did not mention her husband's name, or her father's name, and represented herself as Santhali. As per rule, she was not entitled to purchase those lands...but she purchase them by giving wrong information,” Raghubar Das said.
The BJP leader added that in both matter, provisions of CNT Act and money laundering are attracted.
