India Today
With less than a week to go for the launch, dealers have begun taking pre-bookings for the X version of Yamaha’s successful FZ range of motorcycles.
Yamaha India are looking to come out of the lockdowns swinging, with their latest offering the FZ-X retro bike expected to launch on June 18. Now sources in our dealer network suggest that most dealers have begun taking unofficial bookings for the motorcycle. Depending on the dealer and your negotiation skills, pre-bookings vary from between Rs 1,000 and Rs 10,000. In the run-up to the launch, thanks to several leaks and spy shots, we already know quite a bit about what it will look like and what specs we can expect from Yamaha’s latest retro bike that uses the FZ 150s 150cc motor. The FZ-X is likely to be priced around the Rs 1.14 lakh mark for the variant that does not get a Bluetooth equipped infotainment cluster, there will be slightly more premium variant that will get a Bluetooth cluster, expect to pay about Rs 5,000-7,000 more for this one. Deliveries for the new FZ-X are expected to begin in August, so dealerships are allowing customers to pre-book the bike under the guise of the FZ or FZ-S brands, which will be converted to the FZ-X after the launch, ensuring that customers get ahead of the queue for deliveries.
