Women's World Cup 2022: Heather Knight to lead England's title defence in New Zealand as the ECB announced a 15-member squad for their campaign.
England announced a 15-member squad for their title defence at Women's World Cup 2022, starting March 4 in New Zealand. Heather Knight has been named captain while youngster Emma Lamb has been included in the squad.
Heather Knight led England to World Cup glory in the 2017 Women's World Cup as they defeated Mithali Raj-led India in the big final at the Lord's winning their 4h title.
It's a strong squad for England as Nat Sciver is named as the vice-captain. The likes of Heather Knight Kate Cross, Sophie Ecclestone and Tammy Beaumont are part of the 15-member touring party.
"Fifteen players have been chosen to try and retain the trophy that Heather Knight’s team lifted at Lord’s in 2017, alongside two travelling reserves." the ECB said in a statement.
