A 27-year-old woman who went missing after leaving her workplace in Madhapur, Hyderabad was found dead in Durgam Cheruvu on Thursday (June 19, 2025) morning.
The deceased, identified as B. Sushma, was a private sector employee, and was residing in East Marredpally.
According to Madhapur inspector D. Krishna Mohan, Sushma had left for work in Hitec City on Wednesday afternoon and was expected to return home around 1 a.m. When she failed to return, the family made enquiries and learnt from the office manager that she had left the premises at 8:30 p.m. Her family grew concerned and her father, B. Anjaiah, lodged a missing person complaint with the Madhapur police at 4 a.m. on June 19. In just three hours, her body was found floating in the Durgam Cheruvu.
The police said that the woman may have died by suicide due to alleged harassment by her husband and in-laws. A case of dowry death has been registered against the family, and investigation is underway.
