With 1,500 new Covid infections in last 24 hours, Delhi now has over 5,000 active cases

At least 1,500 of the 89,000 samples tested in Delhi in the last 24 hours have returned positive for Covid-19. The national capital now has more than 5,000 active cases of infection.

Delhi reported 1,515 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 on Thursday. The national capital also recorded five more coronavirus-related deaths and another 903 recoveries in the last 24 hours. It was the highest on December 16 of last year at 2.16 per cent. Officials pointed out that the last time Delhi reported more than 1,500 new cases of infection in a single day was also December 16 of last year.
