Will Akshay Kumar ever join politics? Raksha Bandhan actor answers

Akshay Kumar was recently asked if he has any plans to join politics. Here's what the actor said.

In the past, several actors from Bollywood have taken the route of politics. One question that celebs are often asked is about their plan to join politics. Recently, Akshay Kumar was present at the book launch of Hindujas and Bollywood, held at the Institute of Directors at London's Pall Mall. At the event, Akshay was asked if he had any plans to join politics. In response to this, the actor mentioned that he is happy making movies.

As reported by PTI, when Akshay Kumar was asked about his plans to join politics, the actor stated that he is doing his bit through cinema. "I am very happy making films... As an actor, I do whatever possible to take up social issues. I have produced 150 films, the one nearest to my heart is Raksha Bandhan. I produce commercial films, sometimes with social issues. I produce three-four films a year," said Akshay.

Work-wise, Akshay Kuma was last seen in YRF's historical drama, Samrat Prithviraj. Directed by Chandrapraksh Diwedi, the film also featured Manush Chhillar, Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Manav Vij, Sakshi Tanwar and others. Unfortunately, the film failed to perform well at the box office. Within a month of its release, Samrat Prithviraj had its digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video on July 1.

Next, Akshay will be seen in Aanand L Rai's movie, Raksha Bandhan. The actor will share screen space with Bhumi Pednekar in the film, which releases on August 11, 2022.
