Why Sections 27A and 29 of NDPS Act have spelt trouble for Aryan Khan
India Today
The NCB has invoked two stringent sections -- 27 A and 29 -- of the NDPS Act against Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan. These sections were also seen in actor Rhea Chakraborty’s case in 2020.
The two stringent sections -- 27 A and 29 --of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act have been slapped in the Aryan Khan case by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). These sections were also seen in actor Rhea Chakraborty’s case in 2020.
It had taken a month for Chakraborty to get bail as these two sections are considered harsher in this special law. Apart from section 27 A, the bulk of the arguments between the prosecution and the defence have revolved around Section 29, while the Sessions Court heard Aryan’s bail plea last week.
