Juhi Chawla and Rishi Kapoor's Sharmaji Namkeen will release on March 31. Juhi recalled working with the late actor and made many revelations.
The world will be seeing the magic of Rishi Kapoor one last time in Sharmaji Namkeen. The film, also starring Juhi Chalwa, marks the duo's collaboration after the 1992 film Bol Radha Bol. Speaking about her experience, Juhi revealed that she had a blast working with Rishi Kapoor, who was sometimes left unhappy with her doings.
Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30, and since then there has been a gaping hole in the film industry. While we eagerly wait to see Rishi ji's magic one last time, co-star Juhi revealed that it was super-fun shooting with him,
Juhi, in an interview with Indian Express, revealed that Rishi ji would get angry when she looked at the director's monitor.
Recalling the incident, she said, "On the sets, when scenes were going on, Chintu ji was effortless and sparkling. And I was standing in front of him and struggling with my takes. I knew what was happening inside me. I was like, ‘Chintu ji ke itne acche shots hai. Mere nahi aayenge toh not good. (He gave such good shots. If I would not match up, it won’t look nice).’ I would keep running to the monitor just to see ki maine take theek kiya ki nahi. So, Chintu ji was like ‘monitor is not meant for actors. Why are you behaving like an insecure actor? Hitesh, why are you allowing her to see the monitor.’ I would crack up, but still went and saw the monitor. I loved all that. Great fun."
Sharmaji Namkeen is directed by Hitesh Bhatia. Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment is backing the film. The film stars Juhi Chawla, Suhail Nayyar, Taaruk Raina, Satish Kaushik, Sheeba Chaddha, and Isha Talwar.
After Rishi Kapoor's death, Paresh Rawal stepped into his shoes. He is portraying the same character played by the late actor in the film. It releases on Amazon Prime Video on March 31.
