What if you could take back the worst moment of your life?
With a silver ticket in your hand, you can close your eyes and turn back one moment – a mistake, an accident, the death of a loved one. This is the crux of Rebecca Serle’s new novel “Once and Again” (out now from Atria Books), an author for whom existential plots are a calling card.
The Hawaii-raised, Los Angeles-based writer is known for “Expiration Dates,” “In Five Years” and “One Italian Summer,” among other novels. Many of them are slated for the screen. “Expiration Dates,” which will star Emma Roberts. “Little Fires Everywhere” showrunner Liz Tigelaar has already nabbed “Once and Again” for Apple Original Films.

Serle, 41, sold her first book when she was 23. Over the years, her novels have followed her like a time capsule.
