A week after losing two seats in the Uttar Pradsesh Lok Sabha bypolls, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav rejigged the party structure and dissolved all party units.
In a quest to revamp the party structure ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has dissolved all party units with immediate effect.
Yadav dissolved the national, state, and district executive bodies of all its organisations, including the youth and the women's wing.
However, the party's Uttar Pradesh unit chief, Naresh Uttam, will continue to remain in his position, the party said.

The party announced the revamp through its official Twitter handle and wrote, “The National President of Samajwadi Party, Mr. Akhilesh Yadav has appointed SP, UP with immediate effect. Except the president of the party, the national, state, district executives including the national president, state president, district president, all youth organizations of the party, Mahila Sabha and all other cells have been dissolved.”
