Volvo launches 2023 model range with mild-hybrid powertrains in India

The Swedish automaker has transitioned to only mild-hybrid powertrains for the entirety of its model range in India.
Volvo Car India has launched the 2023 model year update for its range of vehicles in India. The biggest update is that all models now come with only MHEV (mild hybrid electric vehicle) powertrains, which include the XC40, XC60, XC90 and the S90. Prices start at Rs 45.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for the XC40 B4 Ultimate and go up to Rs 94.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for the XC90 B6 Ultimate.

2023 Volvo XC40
The Swedish brand has finally updated its entry-level offering in India; the XC40 with a facelift. The front fascia gets updated with sleeker headlamps and tweaks to the bumper similar to the XC40 Recharge and gets a new design for the 18-inch alloys as well. It gets some new features too, in the form of a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and safety additions such as blind-spot monitoring and cross-traffic alert.
The mild-hybrid powertrain of the 2023 Volvo XC40 uses a 2.0-litre motor paired to a 48-volt battery which produces 197bhp and 300Nm of torque. This power is sent to the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in just 8.4 seconds and all the way up to 180kmph.
Volvo is offering the 2023 Volvo XC40 in the fully-loaded Ultimate trim with the B4 mild-hybrid powertrain. It is priced at Rs 45.90 lakh, but the brand is offering a festive price of Rs 43.20 lakh (prices ex-showroom).
