Vizag, Anakapalli & ASR districts drenched in Tricolor wave with 77 R-Day celebrations

Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, and ASR districts celebrated the 77th Republic Day with patriotic fervor, financial aid, and awards.

Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli and Alluri Sitarama Raju districts glowed with patriotic pride on Monday during the 77th Republic Day clebrations, showcasing traditional and the district’s progress.
In the GVMC limits, from the Police Parade Grounds to the sun-kissed RK Beach, the tricolour flew high, marking 76 years since India adopted its Constitution. This year’s Republic Day was unique as it coincided with the ongoing Visakha Utsav–2026. The RK Beach stretch remained a hub of activity with the ‘Sea to Sky’ themed festival.
Thousands of visitors who gathered for the Utsav joined in the impromptu celebrations. The Beach Road was decorated in saffron, white, and green.
District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad unfurled the national flag at the official event held at Police Parade Grounds in Visakhapatnam. Accompanied by Police Commissioner Shankha Brata Bagchi, the Collector inspected the ceremonial parade and received the guard of honour from various contingents, including the City Police, Home Guards, and NCC cadets. Public Representatives (MLAs) P.G.V.R. Naidu (Ganababu) and P. Vishnu Kumar Raju attended the celebrations.
In his address to citizens, Collector Harendhira Prasad read out the annual development report, highlighting the district’s milestones in infrastructure, education, and healthcare. A financial assistance of ₹809.15 crore was provided to a total of 13,113 beneficiaries, and Pratibha Puraskar were presented to a total 498 employees, he added.
