‘Serve society with honesty and sincerity’
Come out of your comfort zone and strive hard to achieve success. Be independent and serve society with honesty and sincerity, Madras High Court Judge Justice L. Victoria Gowri advised the students of Thiagarajar College on Wednesday.
Addressing the gathering at the 77th College Day event, Justice Victoria Gowri advised the students to remain truthful and honest. She advised the students to follow the principles set by social reformers and leaders. She quoted Swami Vivekananda’s ‘Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man’, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s motto ‘Educate, Agitate, Organise’ and Mahatma Gandhi’s ‘Be the change that you wish to see in the world’.
The judge quoted the social reformers and leaders and explained how they played a major role in reforming society. She urged the students to follow the principles set by them. She appreciated Thiagarajar College management for consistently providing holistic education to the students. She also emphasised on the importance of team work.
Secretary of Thiagarajar College K. Hari Thiagarajan spoke about the invaluable contribution being made by Artificial Intelligence in contemporary society. Fairness, honesty, values, responsibility, ethics should be prioritised, he advised the students.
Principal of the college D. Pandiaraja made a presentation on the significant achievements of the college during the academic year 2025-2026. He highlighted some of the achievements made by staff and students in research, innovation, publication, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. President of the college Uma Kannan was present.
Retired teachers, best outgoing students and other achievers were felicitated at the event. Head of the Department of English V. Subathara Devi proposed a vote of thanks.
