The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) is all set to launch a countrywide campaign against unlawful conversion by a section of missionaries and Muslim clerics. The campaign, 'Dharma Raksha Abhiyan' will begin from December 20 to December 31.As per the details, under this campaign, the VHP will try to create public awareness through literature, public meetings, social media, to expose the alleged conspiracies of those engaged in conversion.
"The VHP today called upon the Central and State Governments to make a stringent law to check the unlawful conversion by Jihadi and Christian Missionaries. The time has now come to impose severe penalties upon the persons involved in religious conversions obtained by allurement, fear, or deceit," said Alok Kumar, working President VHP.

Two years ago, former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina warned of an alleged plot by a 'white man' to establish a Christian state. In 2025, the Mizoram CM said Ukraine war veterans were using the state to enter Myanmar. The arrest of 7 foreign nationals by the NIA has prompted experts to suggest that the incidents might be connected.

Pradyut Bordoloi was a dyed-in-the-wool Congressi who vowed to never leave the party. The physical attack on him in 2025, and the Congress embracing "communal elements" pushed the Lok Sabha MP into joining the BJP. Bordoloi's exit from the Congress after three decades is significant for the party and Assam's politics.
