BJP MP Kangana Ranaut alleged that Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi behaves in a manner that makes women MPs uncomfortable in Parliament.
BJP MP and actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut on Wednesday sparked a fresh political controversy after alleging that Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi behaves in a manner that makes women MPs uncomfortable in Parliament.
Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Ranaut criticised Gandhi’s conduct, saying, “It is very uncomfortable the way he conducts himself.” She further added that he should take cues from his sister, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, whose behaviour she described as “very good.”
“Tapori ki tarah aate hai,” she said.
Ranaut went on to make a sharp remark, calling Rahul Gandhi “a shame,” intensifying the political rhetoric between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress.
The comments come amid ongoing tensions and frequent verbal exchanges between leaders of the two parties during the current session of Parliament. There was no immediate response from Rahul Gandhi or the Congress party on Ranaut’s remarks.

Pradyut Bordoloi was a dyed-in-the-wool Congressi who vowed to never leave the party. The physical attack on him in 2025, and the Congress embracing "communal elements" pushed the Lok Sabha MP into joining the BJP. Bordoloi's exit from the Congress after three decades is significant for the party and Assam's politics.

The government told the Bombay High Court that the situation remains dynamic due to international developments, and emphasised that it may not be appropriate to deliberate such matters within court proceedings. He assured the bench that the government is taking all necessary remedial measures to ensure that global disruptions do not adversely impact domestic supply of LPG.
