
Visakhapatnam: Tributes paid to Ambedkar on his 131st birth anniversary

Collector calls upon youth to tread upon path shown by him
Political leaders paid glowing tributes to B.R. Ambekar at government offices and educational institutions on his 131 st birth anniversary in the city on Thursday.
The participants recalled the contributions made by Ambedkar, known as the Father of the Constitution, towards the cause of the downtrodden sections of society.
Collector A. Mallikarjuna garlanded the statute of Ambedkar at LIC Circle and paid tributes. He called upon the youth to tread on the path shown by Ambedkar.
Joint Collector K.S. Viswanathan, Trainee Collector Aditi Singh, Special Deputy Collector Rangaiah and Social Welfare Officer Ramana Murthy garlanded the statue and paid tributes.
Andhra University Vice Chancellor P.V.G.D. Prasad Reddy said the life of Ambedkar was an inspiration to the masses. Ambedkar had accepted every challenge that came his way and turned it into an opportunity to better himself, he said.
Rector K. Samata, Registrar V. Krishna Mohan and CDC Dean S. Satyanarayana were among those who spoke.
BJP leaders organised a function at the party office in the city to mark the occasion. BJP State general secretary and MLC PVN Madhav, and Parliament district president Raveendra Medapati garlanded the Ambedkar statue at LIC Circle and paid tributes.

The design team at The Indian Twist works on the spontaneous artworks by children and young adults from A Brush With Art (@abwa_chennai) and CanBridge Academy (thecanbridgeacademy), “kneading” them into its products, thereby transforming these artworks into a state of saleability. CanBridge Academy provides life skill training to young adults with autism. And ABWA promotes “expression of natural art in children with special needs”.
