A short film produced by Visakhapatnam Customs House titled “Right Turn” has secured the `Honourable Jury Mention Award’ at the 10th Indian World Film Festival, held in Hyderabad on March 7, according to the officials here on Monday.
The festival saw the film stand out among 417 global entries. The movie was created to align with the World Customs Organisation’s 2025 theme, focusing on how Customs ensures efficiency, security, and prosperity of the nation, said Principal Chief Commissioner Sanjay Rathi.
The department screened the film at Varun Inox for members of the media, and trade stakeholders.
Later, speaking to media, Mr. Rathi said that the film serves as an educational tool to bridge the gap between the department and the public.
Principal Commissioner N. Sridhar said that as the organisation is responsible for the Visakhapatnam and Gangavaram ports and airports, the department continues to balance the facilitation of international trade with the protection of India’s economic interests. This cinematic success with the film `Right Turn’ underscores their ongoing commitment to transparency and stakeholder engagement through creative outreach programmes.
