Candidate who availed free IAS training in Coimbatore city succeeds in UPSC civil services exam
A learner at a free IAS coaching programme centre run by a college professor in the city has emerged successful in the UPSC exam.
R. Reshma (26) of Kuniamuthur who had opted for Geography as the main subject had availed the utility of the free training at the Kanagaraj Free IAS Coaching Programme Centre for the last three years. Ms. Reshma had secured 498th All India Rank. Her score in the interview was 205 out of 275.
The candidate was felicitated on her achievement at the Centre by Vidhya Senthil Kumar, Director -Branding and CSR, Propel Industries, Sulur. Ms. Reshma, while sharing her thoughts, said three to four years of intense preparation was needed. Planning is important, and one must not be mindful of initial setbacks, she said, emphasising on the primacy of time management.
Prolonged preparation warrants maintenance of proper health and sleep patterns, she said, adding that reading of newspapers is a must to be in a state of readiness to answer questions on current National and International issues.
P. Kanagaraj, Head of Political Science Department, Government Arts College (Autonomous), Coimbatore, who runs the coaching centre, said students from Tamil Nadu have performed well in the civil services exam this year.
