Uttarakhand govt postpones Char Dham yatra till further orders

The government had earlier said that the yatra will resume from July 1 and the second phase will commence from July 11.

The Uttarakhand government on Tuesday postponed the Char Dham Yatra hours after it first announced to resume it from July 1. The government, in a revised order, postponed the decision with immediate effect until further orders in compliance with the order of the Uttarakhand High Court. The government had earlier said that the yatra will resume from July 1 and the second phase will commence from July 11 despite the high court's order. The government had said that a Covid-19 negative report will be mandatory to visit the Badrinath and Kedarnath shrines in its latest guidelines.
