Uttar Pradesh prepares for Phase 3 vaccinations against Covid; consistent supply big challenge

While Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has said around 6.5 lakh people will be targeted on an average basis in the third phase of vaccination in the state, a constant supply of Covid vaccines will be a major concern for the state.

The Uttar Pradesh government has said the vaccine against Covid-19 will be given to a record number of people in the state starting May 1 after the registration process of vaccination for those above 18 years of age began on Wednesday. UP CM Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said around 6.5 lakh people will be targeted on an average basis for the third phase of vaccination in the state. Regular availability of Covid vaccines will, however, be a major concern for the UP government even as vaccination of those above 45 years of age continues in the state.
