The US will stop collecting a tranche of import tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump after the Supreme Court ruled the duties unlawful, forcing a sweeping rollback of a controversial trade tool that reshaped global supply chains and strained ties with major partners.

The halt comes more than three days after the court’s decision invalidated the emergency-based duties.
The agency gave no explanation for continuing to collect the tariffs in the interim and did not say whether importers would be refunded.
The suspension applies only to tariffs imposed under IEEPA and does not affect other Trump-era levies, including those under Section 232 national-security powers and Section 301 unfair-trade statutes.
"CBP will provide additional guidance to the trade community through CSMS messages as appropriate," the agency said.
