
UP board imitates CBSE, Class 9 students to appear for 20-mark MCQ exam through OMR sheets

In a move to prepare students for future competitive exams, UP board took a page out of CBSE's book. Class 9 students now need to appear for a 20-mark MCQ test through OMR sheets, which will be part of their 70-mark written exam.
I line with the new National Education Policy (NEP), the UP board has also decided to conduct the Class 9 exams through an OMR sheet. In the written examination of 70 marks, questions of 20 marks will be of multiple choice questions which will need to be answered through an OMR sheet while 50 marks will be of descriptive type as per the old system.
