Union Minister Anurag Thakur was at the India Pavilion at Dubai Expo 2020 to hold a conversation with Ranveer Singh on The Global Reach of Indian Media & Entertainment Industry.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur and actor Ranveer Singh were at the Indian Pavilion at Dubai Expo 2020 on Monday, March 28. Ranveer, who is capable of breathing life into the most mundane situations, made sure that he made the union minister groove to Malhari, a song from his 2016 film Bajirao Mastani. A video of them dancing together to the song has gone viral on social media. The video was also shared by Anurag Thakur on Instagram.

Anurag Thakur was at the India Pavilion to hold a conversation with Ranveer on The Global Reach of Indian Media & Entertainment Industry. The actor dressed in a red kurta and pyjama pulled in the union minister to perform the hook step of the song Malhari with him. Of course, Anurag Thakur obliged.

At the event, Anurag Thakur talked about the Indian film industry's contribution. “I feel by next year India should become the content subcontinent of the world... Language is not a barrier today. People across all sections of society are breaking into a song at the sound of India, it's a huge contribution of the Indian film industry,” the Union Minister said.

Ranveer Singh said that Indians abroad connect to India through films. "Indian entertainment is going to explode globally. Our stories resonate with people and transcend cultural boundaries and Indians abroad connect with India through films," the actor said at the event.
