Suspicious object resembling bomb found in Jaisalmer after alleged Pakistani attacks, prompting investigation by authorities.
An object resembling a bomb was discovered partially buried in the ground in Kishanghat area of Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district on Friday (May 9, 2025), hours after Pakistani missile and drone attacks allegedly targeted military installations in western parts of the desert State.
The suspicious object, which looked like drone debris, was found near a nursery in Jogiyon Ki Basti, situated opposite the Kishanghat area. A local resident spotted it and immediately tipped off the village Sarpanch, who in turn informed the authorities about the object’s location.

The defence personnel, who arrived at the spot, cordoned off the area and asked the people not to touch it. Police said the investigation was in progress and it was not yet known if the object was live or destroyed.
Initial observations suggested that the object could be part of a drone which was allegedly launched by Pakistan over Jaisalmer on Thursday night.
Pakistan’s armed forces on Thursday night launched multiple attacks using drones and other munitions along the western border, which were “effectively repulsed”, the Indian Army said in a statement.
