
Udupi Excise Deputy Commissioner accused of possessing disproportionate assets

Udupi's Excise Deputy Commissioner faces allegations of holding ₹8.69 crore in disproportionate assets, following a Lokayukta investigation.
The Lokayukta police has booked Deputy Commissioner (Excise), Udupi, T.M. Srinivas of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. Following search, the Lokayukta police has accused the official of possessing ₹8.69 crore worth disproportionate assets.
In a press note, the Lokayukta police said search was carried out at the official’s house, office and a total of his 15 places on March 11. He was found possessing ₹9.57 crore worth assets. Of this, immovable assets, including six houses . accounted for ₹6.9 crore.
Movable assets worth ₹2.66 crore, included ₹3.95 lakh cash, ₹1.47 crore worth gold ornaments, ₹17 lakh worth vehicles, ₹25.75 lakh worth bank deposits, and ₹72.68 lakh worth other articles, the Lokayukta police said in the press release.
