Delhi Assembly to commence Budget Session on May 13, likely to pass Bill regulating private school fees.
The second part of the Assembly’s Budget Session will commence on May 13, officials said on Friday. During the session, the government is likely to table and pass the Delhi School Education Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees Bill, 2025, to regulate private school fees.
The Cabinet had approved the draft Bill on April 29 with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta saying that a special Assembly session would be convened to pass it.
The Bill recommends steep penalties and cancellation of the registration of schools found increasing fees illegally or harassing students over the issue.
The first Budget Session under the new government started on March 24 and saw Ms. Gupta, who also holds the Finance portfolio, table her maiden, Rs. 1-lakh-crore budget.
