Thangal’s son puts the blame on Kunhalikutty
A day after reports emerged that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) served a notice on Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) State president Panakkad Sayed Hyderali Shihab Thangal in connection with a probe into a money laundering case, his son Syed Mueen Ali Shaihab Thangal, who is also Muslim Youth League vice president, has criticised party general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty, MLA, for the alleged financial mess in Chandrika daily, the party organ. Replying to questions at a news conference here on Thursday, Mr. Shaihab Thangal accused Mr. Kunhalikutty of the alleged money transactions in Chandrika for which the ED issued notice to the Thangal.A crowd comprising farmers, researchers, professors, students, and horticulture enthusiasts thronged the ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Hesaraghatta, Bengaluru, on Friday for the inaugural ceremony of the Triphal Diversity Show which showcased 300 mango, 100 jackfruit, and 100 banana genotypes in collaboration with ICAR-National Research Centre for Banana, Tiruchirappalli.
The State government on Friday constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT), headed by Additional Director-General of Police, Manish Kharbikar of the Economic Offences division of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to probe the alleged multi-crore scam in the government-run Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation.
