Traffic restrictions and parking arrangements announced for the India-New Zealand T20I match in Thiruvananthapuram from 2 p.m. to midnight.
The Thiruvananthapuram City Police have announced traffic restrictions and parking arrangements in connection with the India-New Zealand T20 International cricket match set to be held at the Greenfield International Stadium, Karyavattom, on Saturday.
The traffic regulations will be enforced from 2 p.m. to midnight on the match day to manage the expected surge in vehicular movement around the stadium.
Parking will be strictly prohibited on both sides of the Kazhakuttam-Ambalathinkara-Karyavattom National Highway stretch, the Ambalathinkara-Kumizhikkara road, and the Stadium Gate 4–Kurishadi-Karyavattom road encircling the stadium. Vehicles found parked illegally or causing traffic obstruction will be removed using recovery vehicles and legal action will be initiated against the drivers.
Traffic diversions will also be enforced during the period. Vehicles travelling from Thiruvananthapuram towards Attingal have been advised to avoid the Karyavattom-Sreekaryam route and instead use alternative routes via Chakka, Ulloor-Akkulam and the bypass. Similarly, vehicles heading towards the city from Attingal will be diverted through the Vetturoad-Chanthavila- Kattaikkonam-Chempazhanthy-Sreekaryam route.
At times of heavy congestion, only those vehicles of ticket holders will be allowed towards the stadium from areas including Vetturoad, Kazhakuttam, Karyavattom, Chavadimukku, Chenkottukonam, and Pullanivila, while other vehicles will be diverted.
Designated parking facilities have been arranged at multiple locations. Two-wheelers can be parked near the stadium entrance, at the Muslim Jama-ath parking ground at Ambalathinkara junction, and along the Ambalathinkara-Technopark road.
