Tottenham Hotspur and France forward Randal Kolo Muani was involved in a minor car accident on Tuesday while travelling for the club’s Champions League fixture in Germany. Spurs head coach Thomas Frank has since confirmed the striker is “fine” and expected to be available for selection.
The incident occurred as Kolo Muani and teammate Wilson Odobert were on their way to the airport ahead of Wednesday’s final Champions League group-stage match against Eintracht Frankfurt. Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Frank played down the situation, explaining that it was a minor issue caused by a tyre problem and that everyone involved was safe. “Unfortunately, both were involved in a minor accident, and everyone else involved in that accident is doing well,” Frank told reporters.
“It was a tyre blowing, so they are a little delayed, but they will land later tonight. I actually doubt they were both in the same car, but they were together.”
Frank added that he had not yet spoken directly to the players but had received positive updates.
“I haven’t spoken to them personally yet as the initial message is that they are doing well. They will fly out later, and I fully expect them both to be available tomorrow,” he said.
