
Tiruvallur Astro Club, a platform for astronomy enthusiasts

Started in 2021 as an affiliate of Tamil Nadu Astronomy and Science Society, Tiruvallur Astro Club has been able to bring together many astronomy enthusiasts from this part of the city by offering an array of activities.
On March 3, skywatchers queued up outside Infinitechain Knowledge Park in Pakkam from 6 p.m. onwards.
Likewise, on February 28, children accompanied by their parents lined up at Knowledge and Study Centre, Parithupattu in Avadi after sunset.
The former had to do with the lunar eclipse; the latter was an event organised on National Science Day. Both events were organised by Tiruvallur Astro Club.

The effort by members, most of them volunteers, is commendable.
Three years ago, Rajarajeswari K., had invested in a high-end telescope to quench the curiosity of her son who loves studying the night sky like a book.
