Palm Festival commences in Tiruchendur

The Palm Festival 2026 in Tiruchendur showcases traditional palm products and livelihood opportunities with 60 exhibition stalls.
Palm Festival 2026 commenced at Vasantha Mandapam near Sri Subramanya Swamy Temple in Tiruchendur on Friday.
The five day festival is being organised by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and Thoothukudi district administration to promote traditional palm-based food and other products and showcasing the palm-based livelihood opportunities.
The festival was inaugurated by R. Ishwarya, additional collector (development) in the presence of S.S. Vaseeharan, general manager, NABARD, and T. Bhuvanesh Ram, assistant collector (training).
A total of 60 stalls have been set up for the exhibition, of which NABARD has sponsored 40 stalls and district administration has sponsored 20 stalls. The festival provides platform for artisans and entrepreneurs to exhibit and market the palm-based products.
