
Jipmer opens one more patient shelter on campus

Jipmer inaugurates its fourth patient shelter to support visitors, funded by the Gothi Charitable Trust, enhancing healthcare access.
The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research has opened its fourth patient shelter on the campus.
According to a release from the Institute, the facility was inaugurated by Jipmer Director Vir Singh Negi. Mr. Negi thanked the members of the Gothi Charitable Trust in Puducherry, for donating the patient shelter which was constructed at a cost of ₹15 lakh. The facility would be of use to hundreds of patients and their attendants visiting the hospital from various places, the release said.
In a separate release, the Institute said as part of events organised across the country to mark Jan Aushadhi Diwas, a rally was held to create awareness among the public of the availability of affordable and high-quality generic medicines.
The rally, flagged off by Mr. Negi, was held in collaboration with the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Bureau of India, Chennai. The objective was to publicise the availability of generic medicines at affordable prices in Jan Aushadhi kendras.
