Tirupati MP expresses concern over alleged illegal activities in Papavinasanam area atop Tirumala hills, criticizing contradictory statements by officials.
Tirupati MP Maddila Gurumoorthy expressed concern over the alleged illegal activities taking place in Papavinasanam area atop Tirumala hills, as revealed by a senior forest official of the district.
The MP’s statement came in the backdrop of a boating trial run reportedly conducted by the Forest Department in the Papavinasanam Dam. He criticised the forest and TTD officials of making contradictory statements over the issue, thus tarnishing the image of Tirumala and spreading confusion among the devotees.
Stressing the need to protect the sanctity of Papavinasanam Dam, the MP pointed out that never before in the history of Tirumala had boating activities been conducted in the holy waterbody and sought details from the authorities concerned. Similarly, the statement by a district forest official on the illegal activities indicated the deteriorating law and order situation at Tirumala, Dr. Gurumoorthy pointed out.
“During YSRCP regime, the opposition parties, including the TDP and JSP, propagated false narratives about alleged violations in the sacred temple town. Where are the so-called protectors of Sanatana Dharma today?,” he asked.
