The 42nd annual sports day of National Engineering College, Kovilpatti was held with gaiety and pomp. The sportsday event commenced with the olympic torch relay. Students from various departments participated in the march past and showcased their departmental achievements through placards. V. Sivakumar, an alumnus of the college and SaaS SCM Practice Delivery Head, HCL Technologies, Chennai attended the event as chief guest, and delivered a special address. Addressing the students, he emphasised that discipline, unity and continuous effort are key elements for success in both life and sports. Prizes and certificates were distributed to winners of various sporting events.
In the overall championship of the men’s category, the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, won the championship title. Meanwhile in the women’s category, students of the Department of Computer science and Engineering (CSE) bagged the overall championship.
V. Karthikeyan, III year, Civil Engineering student and R. Sneka, III year CSE student won in the individual championship in men and women category.
