Five Udupi gram panchayats selected for the prestigious Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar 2025 for exemplary achievements.
Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj has chosen five gram panchayats of Udupi district for the national Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar for 2025.
The panchayats are Mudradi, Vandse, Madamakki, Sanoor and Hakladi. They are among six gram panchayats selected in Karnataka for the award. The sixth panchayat selected for the purasakar in the State is Halanayakanahalli under Bengaluru Urban district.

Mudradi gram panchayat, under Hebri taluk, was ranked first in the State and selected for the award under the theme ‘poverty-free and enhanced livelihoods panchayat’. It will get the prize amount of ₹ 1 crore and a plaque.
The award recognizes Mudradi’s exemplary success in ensuring 100% social security saturation, generating robust wage employment through MGNREGS, and fostering women’s financial independence through a vibrant network of Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
