TGCHE updates Governor on state universities' initiatives, challenges, and proposed meeting with Vice-Chancellors for strategic discussions.
Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) chairman V. Balakista Reddy and Secretary Sriram Venkatesh on Monday called on Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla to apprise him of the initiatives taken up and status of the universities.
Mr. Reddy explained that major actions included syllabus revision in line with contemporary academic and industry requirements, introduction of interdisciplinary courses, and collaborations with industry partners and institutions to promote academic and skill development.
The briefing also included the challenges the universities are facing, particularly in the areas of faculty recruitment, infrastructure constraints, and the prevailing academic and administrative situation.
It was informed that Mr. Shukla suggested convening a meeting with the Vice-Chancellors of all State Universities to deliberate on developmental strategies and address emerging challenges.
