With the Budget Session of Parliament adjourned till March 14, Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor took to Twitter on Sunday to share written answers from ministers to his ‘unstarred questions’ asked during the session.
MP Tharoor tweeted, “With Parliament on hiatus till resumption March 14, it's time to review some of the written answers received from Ministers to my "unstarred questions" that won the lottery to be asked during this part of the Budget session.”
These are the issues MP Shashi Tharoor raised in Parliament:
MP Shashi Tharoor asked for details on food losses and enquired what the government was doing to reduce food losses in storage and transit.
He tweeted, “Contrary to our languishing Global Hunger Index ranking from 94 to 101/116 this year, faring worse than our neighbours, GoI's response highlights wheat storage gains. Gov's own NHFS-V data shows rise in malnutrition between 2016-19. Is our Public Distribution System inefficient then?
