Tragic drowning of three-year-old Lakshmeer at Bengaluru photo studio's artificial pool during a maternity photoshoot; investigation ongoing.

A three-year-old baby boy drowned in an artificial pool at a photo studio in Giddenahalli in Madanayakanahalli police station limits on Saturday (February 14).

The deceased has been identified as Lakshmeer, son of Swathi and Charan Raj, residents of JP Nagar. According to police, the incident occurred when Swathi had visited the studio for her friend’s maternity photoshoot. The toddler, who was playing nearby reportedly fell into a small water pool at the location and drowned.

Swati noticed that the child was missing a few minutes later. After a search, they found the baby in the pool and rushed him to the hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

The body has been shifted to the Nelamangala Government Hospital for post-mortem examination. The police said the autopsy will be conducted after the arrival of the child’s father, Charan Raj, a private firm employee who had travelled abroad a week ago for work and is expected to return to Bengaluru on Monday.

The Madanayakanahalli police visited the spot, conducted an inspection and registered a case. Further investigation is under way.
