Residents urge authorities to improve ration shop visibility and road safety by erecting name boards and marking speed breakers.
Nameboard for ration shop
A ration shop has been functioning in panchayat office building in Tirunagar, Palani, for a long time. Even a name board for the ration shop has not yet been erected there, due to which people who intend to purchase commodities, such as rice and sugar, wander the streets in search of the ration shop’s whereabouts. All restrooms have been in a dilapidated condition. I urge the civil supplies authorities to construct a new building for the ration shop, erect a name board of the ration shop and repair the dilapidated rest rooms immediately.

Speed breaks without markings
In Ramanathapuram and its surrounding areas, road users find it difficult to identify speed breakers, leading to frequent accidents and defeating the very purpose for which they are built. Though rules mandate zebra markings on speed breakers and warning boards on the left side of the road, these norms are rarely followed.
