Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal have always been there for each other.
When the "Nightcrawler" actor, 45, stopped by "The Late Show" on Tuesday, March 3, he received a very special message from his famous sister. Maggie Gyllenhaal was a guest on the show on Monday, and, knowing her brother would be there the next day, she slipped a note in the couch for him.
So during Jake Gyllenhaal's chat with Colbert, the actor pulled out the note and read it out loud. "You're a beast," it said. This, the "Brokeback Mountain" actor explained, is a message he and his sister have been leaving for each other going back years in order to hype the other up.
"My sister did a show on Broadway that she was starring in, and it was an amazing experience for her, but also she was going through things," Gyllenhaal recalled. "I went into her dressing room for opening night, in one of the previews maybe, and I just wrote, 'You're a beast.' We write it on each other's mirrors. She's written it on my mirror every opening night."
