Several stars were notably missing from the Oscars' in memoriam tribute Sunday night.
The segment, which honors notable names in the film community who died over the last year, didn't include James Van Der Beek, Eric Dane, Malcolm-Jamal Warner or Brigitte Bardot, among others.
"Dawson's Creek" star Van Der Beek died in February at age 48 three years after he was diagnosed with Stage 3 colorectal cancer. Dane, who played Dr. Mark Sloan, aka "McSteamy," in "Grey's Anatomy," died the same month at 53 following a battle with ALS. Malcolm-Jamal Warner died in an accidental drowning at the age of 54 in July. And in December, Bardot, an icon of French cinema, died at 91.
Though skipped in the broadcast, the stars are included on the Oscars' in memoriam web page.
This isn't the first time the Oscars have left off certain fallen stars. Though some of the stars left out, like Van Der Beek, were better-known for their TV careers, they also had notable film credits to their names.
